Problem installing COMSOL in Linux(Ubuntu14.04) OS

I got trial version of COMSOL for 3 weeks. I have Linux(Ubuntu 14.04) OS. While installing, it is asking license.dat file, I am providing the path of the file, but every time when I am providing the path, it is generating a new license file, so the license file is not matching. It is giving error. Can you anyone help how to solve that?

i have the permittivity of material but the do not have the conductivity . is there any way to calculate the conductivity on comsol or any theoretical way when i have the permittivity .

best suited PC for comsol 5.2

As a scholar, I rigorously work in comsol. I'm currently using core i7 based hp pavilion (5 yrs old), with 16GB RAM where I regularly faces some issues like hanging, unable to open files larger in size (even 10GB), problem in display driver and so on. So, any suggestion about, how to recover from these issues? Some friends even suggest me to buy a workstation.

Is there any possibility for me to work with same PC, or should I've to change it?

Memory problem?

Dear all,
I write you because I am experiencing some problems with Comsol 5.2a.
When I open a model (previosly created) and I run the simulation, it works perfectly, plotting the results.
However, if I run it again without any changas, it gets stuck, run the simulation but doesn't plot anything (neither automatically or manually), and I cant make it works again, unless I restart it( I have also tried to clear solutions).
So my question is: do I have any problem with my computer (memory problem), or it comes from the the software? Does someone know how to solve it?

Can't open COMSOL 5.2 with R2016a Matlab on MacOS Sierra

Hello,

I have installed COMSOL 5.2 with Matlab. My matlab is R2016a version, and I use macOS Sierra. The COMSOL itself runs withot the problem but when I tried to run COMSOL with matlab, I saw this error message in terminal windows.

I check the file mentioned in the error message and I could find it. If anyone have had the same issue and knew the soluition, please let me know.

Hi,

I am trying to simulate Air flow through an extraction chamber. The file is too large to be attached here.. my inlet pressure is 1 pa and outlet is about -2 pa. It is the concept of suction which is being used.
I carried out the simulation first with fluid as water, density of 1000kg/m3 and Viscosity of 0.001 Pas with Laminar Flow as physics control.

But as my real case is with air, if i put fluid properties as density 1.24 and viscosity 0.0000195 (of air at 20C) keeping rest of the things same. My solution does not converge. Can someone please help me out, as

I get an error of "Failed to find a solution.
Maximum number of Newton iterations reached.
Returned solution is not converged.''

Basic Question: How to add modules

Hello,

I am following a number of tutorials as I need to learn COMSOL. I need to use the RF Module but it does not appear in the "add physics" window when I am creating a model. I have AC/DC, Acoustics etc. but my model concerns Electromagnetics so I need the RF Module.

Please advise me on how to add modules to COMSOL.

starting comsol with alternative mpi

i'm trying to run comsol on our cluster.

however, the cluster isn't supporting intel mpi.

the alternatives i can use are:

CUDA and COMSOL

Dear all, I have a new NVIDIA Quadro GPU and I would like to use it to accelerate my simulations, is it possible to use it somehow?
I looked for some informations and it seems to me that CUDA it's still unsupported, does someone have any fresh news?

I think this would be a very nice feature to be implemented in the future since nearly all the competitors (ansys, abaqus, nastran etc...) can benefit of GPU acceleration
